Who we are

Juan Jesus Guillen is a California State Licensed Barber. He’s a Mexican descent who’s hometown is Pittsburg, California. Becoming a Barber was a complete journey that was shaped by various experiences and many different factors.

Growing up and being raised with the custom to always look well groomed and be well kept was an initial factor to the beginning of his journey. As a kid, he enjoyed styling his hair to different types of hairstyles and trying out different things with hair products. He was taught to look clean and have his hair in place before walking out the house wherever he went. Going into the salon to get cleaned up was a must. However, he wanted to keep learning and trying new things when it came to hairstyles and hair products.

As soon as he started high school he decided to look into what he had always appreciated as a kid growing up, which was hair products and self-care. Starting off by simply watching videos and researching about different hair products, that is where he got the idea of going into a Barbershop for the first time in his life. Walking into the Barbershop was one of the best decisions he had ever made. Immediately, he was impacted by the environment that was carried in the Barbershop. The fact that the clients, the Barbers, and everyone else who walked in there was always having a good time was something that meant a lot for Juan Jesus. Right away, his first time experience was a reason for him to make that a usual thing for the time to come. Soon enough, learning about gentleman’s fashion and diving deeper into hair products gave him the idea of wanting to become a Barber himself. With the great advice and awesome conversations between Juan Jesus and his Barber Jorge, he decided to look deeper into the pathway to becoming a Barber.

In April of 2022, Juan Jesus began his career in the trade of Barbering by enrolling in a brand new school that at the time was called Bello’s Barber Beauty College located in Pittsburg, California, that later was renamed to Conbello Academy. Finally, by having all things in place and lined up, Juan Jesus wanted to create and provide a similar experience to what he received on his first time at the Barbershop. By adding his own touch, being creative, taking into account his love for vintage Americana fashion and music of the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s, he decided to make Sir Vintage his official Barbering brand name.

Currently, Juan Jesus also known as Sir Vintage Barber & Hairstylist works as a Senior Barber at Mark-Jason Solofa Men’s Grooming. It is Northern California’s private premium gentleman’s grooming and shave parlor brand located in Berkeley, California. He loves and delights himself of providing the best experience possible to every single person who sits in his chair. Through giving a service tailored to them, having a wonderful conversation, and creating long-lasting relationships. One thing is for sure, his enthusiasm for customer service, traditional Barbering, and love for the people is what drives his brand.
